Nitty Gritty Dirt Band – A little bit rock and a whole lot country, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band got its start in the mid-’60s in Long Beach, California. From there, the band had extreme success covering tunes like “Mr. Bojangles,” and released the iconic “Fishin’ In The Dark,” a #1 hit for the band on the country charts in 1987.
