Jason Aldean (born February 28, 1977) is an American country music singer known for his long run of chart‑topping hits. He signed with Broken Bow Records in 2005 and has released eleven albums and 40 singles with the label. His 2010 album My Kinda Party earned a quadruple‑platinum certification from the RIAA. Night Train (2012) reached double‑platinum status. His debut album Jason Aldean (2005), Relentless (2007), Wide Open (2009), and Old Boots, New Dirt (2014) all achieved platinum certification. Aldean has earned five Grammy nominations, including two for Best Country Album.
Aldean has become one of country music’s most consistent hitmakers. Twenty‑seven of his 38 singles have reached number one on the Hot Country Songs or Country Airplay charts. His chart‑toppers include “Why,” “She’s Country,” “Big Green Tractor,” “The Truth,” “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Kelly Clarkson, “Dirt Road Anthem,” “Fly Over States,” “Take a Little Ride,” and “The Only Way I Know” with Luke Bryan and Eric Church. Other number‑one hits include “Night Train,” “When She Says Baby,” “Burnin’ It Down,” “Just Gettin’ Started,” “Tonight Looks Good on You,” “Lights Come On,” “A Little More Summertime,” “Any Ol’ Barstool,” “You Make It Easy,” “Drowns the Whiskey” with Miranda Lambert, “Girl Like You,” “Rearview Town,” “Got What I Got,” “Blame It on You,” “If I Didn’t Love You” with Carrie Underwood, and “Trouble with a Heartbreak.”
In 2023, Aldean released “Try That in a Small Town,” a song that drew widespread media attention. The music video sparked criticism for its imagery and filming location, which carried historical significance. Despite the controversy, the song became Aldean’s first number‑one hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
