How Brooks & Dunn came together

Kix Brooks from Louisiana and Ronnie Dunn from Texas were both chasing solo careers when Arista Nashville’s Tim DuBois suggested they write together. Their first album, Brand New Man, produced four No. 1 singles and sold millions.

The '90s run

Through the ’90s and 2000s they stacked up hits and awards, winning the CMA Vocal Duo of the Year almost every year. They split in 2010, then reunited in 2015 for a Las Vegas residency with Reba McEntire and kept going with Reboot (2019), which reimagined their hits with younger stars.
